Nuvolt Corporation Inc. (TSX NCO) has been a public corporation since 2007 following a take-over of Norco Capital Inc. Specializing in electricity, the company has developed a leading edge expertise in the management of electrical failures and power quality. It designs, manufactures and markets equipment to neutralize leakage current and electrical network monitoring systems. In addition, Nuvolt offers electrical network analysis services for livestock farms (dairy, hog and poultry) in North America.
Over the last three years, Nuvolt has made major investments in the development of a very innovative technology capable of predicting an electrical failure on a network or a piece of equipment. This technology will be marketed under the name of SmartScan beginning in the first quarter of 2010. Its launch is planned in February at the World Ag Expo of Tulare, California and in March in Canada. The SmartScan system is already considered to be revolutionary in the monitoring of electrical networks and equipment by the engineering specialists who took part in the development project and those who were consulted within the context of this project. The beta prototype was selected as a major innovation for the dairy industry at the World Ag Expo last year. SmartScan is revolutionary by its ability to predict an electrical failure and, in so doing, to prevent downtime on industrial production lines, equipment failures and risks of fire in commercial real estate buildings and on commercial vessels, and also to protect animals on livestock farms. It is also revolutionary by its very affordable cost, by its wireless installation concept and by the accuracy of its management software which not only predicts and announces the future event but also identifies the problem in a very simple manner with the required solutions; SmartScan can transfer the information remotely and shed the load if necessary.
